Element: Aerogel
(also called frozen smoke. Hikxalim in particuar uses silica aerogel, in its chemically treated state. It's the least dense solid in existence. Its name is misleading- it is made from a gel but is actually a type of foam. In appearance, it's transparent and blue, in feeling incredibly light and like floral foam or styrofoam.
Although it is structurally similar to glass along with being transparent and shattering under heavy force, it is only 3 times denser thain air and has an insanely high melting point (3000 degrees Celsius!).
It's the best insulator in the world, even thin slices of it being able to directly shield delicate things like matches, flowers and human skin from the flame of a blowtorch. It can also support things many times its own weight.
With chemical treatment, it becomes an even better insulator. It also can be made hydrophobic, repelling water.
In reality, it's used in space for collecting cosmic dust, up-and-coming insulation for homes, clothes, and wiring among other things. Hikxalim's use of it for battle is clever, but not altogether incredibly realistic xD

Weapon: Chainsword
(a chainsaw/one-handed sword hybrid. It's lightweight, but powerful.
The saw's teeth are actually incredibly sharp pieces of aerogel attached to smaller metal points on the blade- he can launch these off as an attack and regenerate any missing teeth that he sees fit. If all of the teeth are removed, it works similarly to a vibrasword.)

Backstory: Hikxalim's Other, Mikhail, was a student going into the field of rocket science at the time he lost his heart.

He had a relatively normal childhood, although his mother died when he was very young. Growing up, he learned to surf with his father and became an athletic and competitive person. He studied martial arts, along with swordsmanship, during his teens. He had a dream of being an astronaut as a child and eventually expanded that into his major, his field in college.

He'd been going steady in his last 2 years of high school with a girl named Carina. In the summer before college, he went abroad to study-- however, in that time, she began seeing someone else behind his back. He went through his entire first year of college not knowing about it and still going out with her, but after the start of summer Carina decided that he would find out soon if she didn't do something.

What did she do? She dumped him, under the pretense of "you don't make enough time to spend with me". This hit the proud Mikhail hard, as he had actually been in love with her. Over the next few days, he became drastically different-- moody, brooding and angry. As one of the things that he did to calm down, Mikhail went for an evening surf to reflect.

Unfortunately, there had been recent activity from otherworlders that had attracted the Heartless to the world. They sensed Mikhail's inner turmoil, his confusion and anger, and the darkness stirring in his heart. They took the opportunity to attack him on the beach. Although he tried to hold them off, they eventually overwhelmed him.

It was only a short while later that Hikxalim appeared in Twilight Town . . .

Personality: There are a lot of one-word phrases to describe him. Arrogant. Egotistical. Bragging. Concieted. Condescending. Self-preserving. Rude. Dastardly. Vain. He looks out for himself. Only if it is of use to him or he's being forced to will he defend someone else. He is intelligent and resourceful, strong and proud. The type of person you don't want as your enemy, but doesn't make a good friend either (unless you're a submissive bodyguard or something). He's not a very romantic person, in both ways.
